November 2025

Hi Reader,

I recently spent a few nights enjoying some much needed rest and relaxation with my husband in Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic.

I stayed at the Secrets Resort & Spa, a Hyatt all-inclusive adults-only resort. All-inclusives are not my #1 preferred style of travel, but for a few days to relax and do just about nothing with the most genuinely pleasant and friendly staff attending to our every want and need, I can't honestly say I wouldn't go back.

It checked all the boxes: ꪜ high staff to guest ratio, ꪜ variety of quality food, ꪜ cleanliness, ꪜ beautiful lush tropical grounds, ꪜ variety of daily activities, ꪜ fantastic nightly entertainment and ꪜ bottomless drinks were all truly on point. It's the perfect location for a quick romantic getaway.

I look forward to a future stay at this lovely property!

November's Featured Location:
Paris & Normandy

It's a perfect combination for travelers who crave history, fine cuisine, and relaxed exploration beyond just the capital city.

AmaWaterways is a family owned and operated river cruise company with outstanding personalized service and regionally inspired cuisine. They offer a sailing between Paris and Normandy with an optional 2-night pre-cruise stay in Paris.

For the full itinerary: AmaWaterways Paris to Normany 2026.pdf

Dates, pricing, and more details can be found here. If you are considering any river cruise, its best to look into them as early as possible to ensure the dates and cabin you prefer are available. Ama's Paris to Normandy is a very popular itinerary. Final payments on AmaWaterways are not due until 90 days before sailing (vs 120 or more on Viking).

If you are interested in exploring this region, I recommend the following at a minimum:

  • Visit Monet’s gardens in GivernyJust an hour outside Paris, wander through the gardens that inspired Claude Monet’s most famous paintings. The lily pond and arched Japanese bridge look like living art, especially in the soft light of late autumn.
  • Explore the D-Day beachesWalk along Omaha Beach or visit the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, where history feels both poignant and deeply moving. Consider allowing me to hire you a private guide to gain a richer understanding of the region’s World War II significance.
  • Sip Calvados in a countryside distilleryNormandy’s rolling orchards produce some of France’s best apple brandy and sparkling cider. Visit a family-run distillery for a tasting and enjoy a leisurely lunch of local cheese and fresh seafood in a nearby village.

For an upscale stay while you explore Paris, consider the Cheval Blanc Paris:

Cheval Blanc Paris is a refined urban luxury retreat located in a beautifully restored Art Deco landmark on the banks of the Seine in the heart of Paris.

With only 72 rooms and suites, each offering sweeping views of Paris's iconic landmarks and enhanced by bespoke butler service and a Dior-branded spa with one of France’s longest indoor pools, this property presents both privacy and indulgence. It is located just minutes from key transportation hubs and ideal for a relaxed arrival in Paris.

The intimate scale and high-level service mean the stay feels like a personalised retreat rather than simply a hotel stopover, which is perfect if you are seeking a certain level of luxury and want to start your trip in Paris with elegance and ease.

If you or your intimate group are interested in an elevated experience in the Paris and Normandy area, contact me to discuss.
